Rules & Conditions:

For two year old traditionally Bred fillies, suitable for producing High Quality Traditionally Bred Sport Horses. (i.e. NO continental Breeding in the Pedigrees).
Fillies must have been registered as Foals with a Society that maintains its breed for the Irish Sport Horse Breed, The Irish Draught Breed, the Thoroughbred Breed and the Connemara Pony Breed and must be by: APPROVED (a) Thoroughbred Stallion/Connemara Stallion/Registered Irish Draught Stallion/ Irish Sport Horse Stallion OR (b) any cross of the afore mentioned.
Dams of the Fillies must also be by the Stallions as above and registered in a stud book with a society that maintains its breed.
All exhibitors must have their filly’s passports at the qualifying Show & at the Championship & available for inspection.
More than one filly may be selected at any qualifying show provided that the standard of entries warrants such selection.
Should the standard of entries be deemed to be insufficient, no filly will be selected.
Infringement of these conditions or Championship regulations may lead to disqualification.
Each Filly selected at qualifying shows is eligible to compete in the T.I.H.A. Limerick Lady Championship Final at Limerick Show.
Entry Fee to Qualifying Show - €15.00        To Final - €25.00

Final will take place at Limerick Show on Sunday 24th August 2025.

(Note – Entrants into ISA Qualifiers are requested to exhibit in another class)

NOTICE FROM DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOOD & THE MARINE

From the department of Agriculture & Food - Spacific Requirements - Horses & Other Equines

Premises Registration

As from 1st May 2012 any premises(which include Shows, Fairs & Markets) where horses or other equines are gathered must be registered with the Department. Owners/Persons in charge of such gatherings are required to submit a completed application form for registration and to keep records of movements on/off their premises. (This Rule does not apply in Northern Ireland)

Records must br retained for at least 3yrs as they may be required by the department for the purpose of tracing disease

Recordes required are:

  • Name & Address of the owners/Person in charge of the premises from which the equine came
  • The premises registration number from which the equine came
  • Passport number / UEL number of the animal.

It is important therefore that Show Organisers should contact their local District Veterinary Office in advance so that consideration can be given to compliance with requirements outlined above.

HSI SHOWING SERIES REGULATIONS

HSI/DAFM funding will only be provided for animals registered in a studbook with a breed code recorded. This can include main section studbook equines or supplementary section studbook equines. Animals with breed code 'UNK', whether breeding is recorded or not, will not be eligible for funding under this initiative.

NOTICE OF INTEREST TO CHAMPIONSHIP PARTICIPANTS IRISH LAW EU DIRECTIVE

Under Irish Law all horses moving from one location to another must be accompanied by their passports. It is in your own interest to ensure this is the case. Failure to do so is an offence under Irish Law and is liableon summary conviction to result in a fine up to €3000. All Passports must be registered with the name of the current owner.

EMBRYO TRANSFER:

Where a foal is produced by this method the Dams passport must bear a declaration dated, stamped and signed by the stallion owner (or accredited practitioner where AI is involved) stating the date on which the dam was last covered (or inseminated) and the name of the covering Stallion.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Horse riding is a dangerous sport. While mounted all competitors and ride judges are required, for their own safety, to wearappropriatw head gear that complies with up to date safety standards and is securely fastened.

NEW RULES

  • If a qualified exhibitor does not turn uo to an ISA final without giving prior notice to the ISA office or to a board member he/she will incur a financial penelty.
  •  All prize money in Horse Sport Ireland Showing Championship Series is subject to HSI/DAFM funding being granted.
